“The Nokia 3, 5 and 6 are budget smartphones with Android Nougat and 4G LTE”
Nokia re-entered the smartphone market under HMD Global’s umbrella in January this year with the launch of the Nokia 6 mid-ranger. At MWC, the company introduced two additional smartphones including the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, alongside the Nokia 3310 refresh (review). Today, the brand has finally launched the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones in India, just a couple of weeks after launching the Nokia 3310 2017 in the country.
The Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are budget smartphones, which boot Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, and come pre-loaded with the Google Assistant. The Nokia 3 (first impressions) features a 5-inch display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC, mated to 2GB of RAM. The phone offers 16GB of storage, 8MP cameras on the front and rear and a 2,650mAh battery.
The Nokia 5 (first impressions) offers a 5.2-inch HD display, and is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 505 GPU. The device offers 16GB of storage, a 13MP primary snapper, an 8MP front shooter, a fingerprint sensor and a 3,000mAh battery.
The Nokia 6 (review) is the most high-end of the lot that features a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a fingerprint sensor. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, mated to 3GB of RAM. The phone offers 32GB of expandable storage, a 16MP rear snapper, an 8MP front shooter and a 3,000mAh battery.
The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 have been priced at Rs 9,499 and Rs 12,899 in India. The Nokia 6 on the other hand will set you back by Rs 14,999. The Nokia 3 will be available exclusively via offline stores from June 16th. The Nokia 5 is also offline exclusive, and its pre-bookings in the stores will start from July 7th. They will be available at Nokia’s retail network of 80,000 stores across the country. The Nokia 6 will be available exclusively on Amazon India, and pre-registrations for its sale will kick off on July 14th. Amazon Prime users will get Rs 1,000 off on the phone if they pay via their Amazon Pay balance. The brand has revealed that all Nokia devices sold in the country will be Made in India.
The launch offers on the Nokia 3 and 5 include 5GB of data for Rs 149 per month for three months for Vodafone users. Nokia 6 users will get 10GB of data at Rs 249 per month for six months on Vodafone’s network.
