“The Nokia 5.2 could feature a MediaTek processor just like its predecessor”
While the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 have already been released in a number of regions across the globe, the more affordable Nokia 5.2, which should succeed the Nokia 5.1 has been missing from HMD Global’s arsenal this year. But a number of filings at the FCC this month have revealed that the said model is coming soon. Three models, alleged to be the Nokia 5.2 variants, were spotted at the FCC by NokiaPowerUser and details like the battery and display size of the mysterious handset have been revealed with these documents. The Nokia 5.2 predecessor was revealed back in August 2018 and it’s about time that we now get an official upgrade.
Coming to the details, the Nokia TA-1214 was the chief suspect here believed to be the Nokia 5.2. However, the source later updated the information to say that the TA-1214 is a single SIM variant of the Nokia 2.3, which is TA-1206. That leaves us with the Nokia TA-1211 for which there is not a lot of information available right now, except for its frequencies. Do note that all the information related to model identity is derived from presumption and there’s no certain knowledge about it to date. Coming to details for the TA-1214 and TA-1206 FCC models, the display is about 6.1 inches which is understandable because the Nokia 2.2 has a 5.7-inch display. The dimensions are 157.69 × 75.41mm and the battery size is 3,920mAh.
It does seem unlikely that the Nokia 2.3 could be a successor of the Nokia 2.2, which is still a relatively new phone. However, it’s also possible that it is just a minor upgrade over the former.
Recapping the old Nokia 5.1, it featured a MediaTek Helio P18 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. It had a 5.5-inch IPS display with a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter, all powered by a 2,970mAh battery. There’s still no official information regarding the release of the Nokia 5.2 or Nokia 2.3 as of now.
