“Nokia 5.2 specifications mentioned in a new tip include features such as PureDisplay tech, OZO Audio, and ZEISS camera”
Just a few days ago, alleged hands-on images of an upcoming Nokia-branded smartphone, with model number TA-1198, were leaked online. The photos suggest that the phone will arrive with a waterdrop notch and a triple primary camera setup at the rear. The marketing name of the handset, though, wasn’t revealed in last week’s leak. However, Twitter tipster Nokia anew has suggested that the Nokia TA-1198 could arrive as the Nokia 5.2. Moreover, while HMD Global’s 5 series has been part of the affordable segment so far, the Nokia 5.2 will be decidedly mid-range, the new tip claims.
Most likely, it’s Nokia 5.2.— Nokia anew (@nokia_anew) July 5, 2019
According to the tweet, the Nokia 5.2 will come with features such as ZEISS camera tech, PureDisplay, and OZO Audio. One of the images from last week did show ZEISS branding on the camera. The tipster also says the Nokia 4.2 is the real successor of the Nokia 5.1 from 2018 (in terms of features and pricing), not the upcoming Nokia 5.2. This just continues HMD Global’s pattern of using inconsistent naming conventions for its smartphones, which simply ends up confusing the users, something the company has admitted to.
HMD was planning to add Zeiss, PureDisplay and OZO Audio to Nokia 5.2. So far, everything fits. Therefore, last year’s Nokia 5.1 was replaced by the new Nokia 4 – Nokia 5.2 moves to a more expensive segment.#nokia5 #nokiamobile #hmd #nokia #nokia4— Nokia anew (@nokia_anew) July 5, 2019
According to the earlier leaked photos, the Nokia 5.2 could have three primary cameras placed in a round-shaped module at the back. The handset seems to have a glass back and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is also tipped to offer a waterdrop notch-toting display and a dedicated button to trigger Google Assistant. Talking about the specs, Nokia 5.2 is said to feature a 48MP ZEISS primary camera with a super-wide lens, apart from a third sensor. The phone will have a full HD+ display of unknown size, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset and a 3,500mAh battery. Other specifications of the smartphone remain under the curtain at the moment.
As of now, there’s no word when HMD Global is planning to launch the Nokia 5.2 smartphone. However, since almost everything about the phone has been leaked, we expect it to be released very soon.
