“Airtel is offering these smartphones with attractive down payments starting from Rs 3,799”
HMD Global, the brand that owns the rights to manufacture and sell Nokia smartphones, launched the Nokia 8 Sirocco (review), Nokia 7 Plus (review) and Nokia 6.1 (review) in India last month. These smartphones were already up for grabs in the subcontinent from major online as well as offline retailers. Now, one of the largest telecom operators in the country, Airtel has announced that these phones are available on its online store with easy financing options.
Nokia is offering the handsets with down payments starting at as low as Rs 3,799 and EMIs starting from Rs 1,499. The telco is also offering bundled postpaid plans for smartphones brought from its online store. These plans offer massive data benefits, unlimited calling and complementary Airtel TV subscription. On the purchase of the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 Plus, users will get 30GB free data with rollover facility. If you buy the Nokia 8 Sirocco on the other hand, you’ll get 50GB 4G data that can be carried forward, Amazon Prime membership for an year and Airtel Secure device protection, apart from the benefits mentioned above. Listed below are the Airtel’s payment options for these phones.
- Nokia 6.1 (3GB RAM): Down payment – Rs 3,799, EMI – Rs 1,499 for 12 months
- Nokia 6.1 (4GB RAM): Down payment – Rs 5,799, EMI – Rs 1,499 for 12 months
- Nokia 7 Plus: Down payment – Rs 5,599, EMI – Rs 2,099 for 12 months
- Nokia 8 Sirocco: Down payment – Rs 8,599, EMI – Rs 2,799 for 12 months
In order to avail these benefits, customers need to log on to the Airtel online store and select the device of their choice. Next, they will be asked to check their eligibility and upon approval, make the down payment. The telecom service provider will then deliver the smartphone and upon activation, the bundled Airtel Postpaid plan will automatically be applied.

To refresh your memory, the retail price of the 3GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6.1 is Rs 16,999, whereas the high-end model costs Rs 18,999. The Nokia 7 Plus carries a price tag of Rs 25,999, while the Nokia 8 Sirocco is the most expensive of the lot with a sticker price of Rs 49,999.
