“Ahead of the launch of the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia has dropped the price of its predecessor”
HMD Global has an event scheduled for August 21st in India, where it’s expected to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The phone is rumoured to be the global version of the Nokia X6 (first impression), which was launched in China earlier this year. Now just a couple of days ahead of its latest event, Nokia has reduced the price of the Nokia 6.1 in the country.
The Nokia 6.1 was launched in the country in two RAM and storage configurations – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB, both of which have received a price drop of Rs 1,500. The 3GB RAM variant was released for Rs 16,999, but is now available for Rs 15,499. The 4GB RAM model of the phone is now retailing for Rs 17,499, down from the earlier price of Rs 18,999.
To recap the specs, the Nokia 6.1 is a mid-range offering with an all-metal unibody design and stock version of Android Oreo. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor. The camera department includes a 16MP PDAF rear snapper with ZEISS optics, and an 8MP front shooter. A 3,000mAh battery completes the list of the specs.
Talking about the upcoming Nokia event in the country, the company has started a pre-launch teaser campaign under the #BringItOn hashtag on Twitter for the new phone. In the first such post, HMD Global promises to launch the “most-awaited phone” at its upcoming launch event. Sadly, it hasn’t revealed the name of the smartphone.
However, it’s likely that the teaser post is of the Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone, global rollout of which has already started. It’s the first Nokia smartphone to sport the infamous notch. Moving on to other specs, the handset flaunts a 5.8-inch full HD+ 19:9 display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC mated with 4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage under the hood.
Other features include stock-Android 8.1 Oreo interface, dual 16MP + 5MP rear cameras, 16MP front camera shooter, Bothie feature, and a 3,060mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. At the connectivity front, the Nokia 6.1 Plus hosts hybrid dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The India price of Nokia 6.1 Plus is not known at the moment. However, since the launch is just around the corner, we wouldn’t have to wait for too long. We will be at the event on August 21st to bring you all the details about the phone, so stay tuned to 91mobiles.
