“Nokia 6.2 is rumoured to be a mid-range handset with a punch-hole display”
MWC 2019 is very close at hand and one of the main attractions at the mobile tech show will undoubtedly be the Nokia 9 PureView from the house of HMD Global. It is also expected to introduce one or two other handsets, such as Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2, at the event but it seems the Nokia 6.2 won’t make the cut. As per a tweet by tipster @Nokia_anew, there’s a high probability that the handset will be revealed after MWC. Of course, there is no official confirmation yet on the company’s part regarding which handsets it will launch at MWC 2019.
Apparently the reason behind Nokia 6.2 skipping the mega expo in Barcelona is that HMD Global wants to keep the focus on Nokia 9 PureView. The latter is rumoured to be a premium smartphone with five cameras on the back. However, it will be powered by last year’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and feature huge bezels above and below the display – this will put it at some disadvantage against the Snapdragon 855-toting 2019 flagships that feature minimal bezels.
As for the Nokia 6.2, it is expected to be a mid-range handset, but have a novelty to offer on its own. Rumour has it that the Nokia 6.2 is the company’s first punch-hole display smartphone. Current leaked info is that the handset has a 6.2-inch full-HD+ display and is powered by a Snapdragon 632 SoC. The handset is also tipped to feature a Zeiss-branded 16MP dual camera setup.
The Nokia MWC 2019 event is scheduled for February 24th, which is when we expect to hear more about it’s Nokia 9 PureView, or more specifically, the penta-lens camera. The Nokia 9 PureView leaked yesterday in the most detailed press renders revealing all of its design while rumoured specifications have been reported quite a few times in the past few weeks.
