- Nokia 6.3 was previously tipped to launch with a Snapdragon 6xx-series chipset
- The smartphone is expected to go official in Q3 alongside Nokia 7.3 and Nokia 9.3 PureView
Nokia 6.3 is said to launch alongside the Nokia 7.3 and Nokia 9.3 PureView flagship later this year. A little while ago, NokiaPowerUser reported that the Nokia 6.3 would be powered by the Snapdragon 670/675 SoC. However, the website is now reporting, citing an unknown tipster, that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 730 SoC. Additionally, it is tipped that the Nokia 6.3 will arrive with a quad-camera setup that will include a 24MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a macro lens. The fingerprint sensor is also said to be embedded in the power button.
The latest report should please Nokia fans who were sceptical about a 2020 phone running on an old Snapdragon 6xx-series chipset. The Snapdragon 730 SoC is a more powerful mid-range processor that also delivers a high-end gaming experience. It makes sense for HMD to use this chipset for the Nokia 6.3 considering the Nokia 8.3 has launched with the Snapdragon 765 processor.
Earlier reports say the Nokia 6.3 will feature a better selfie camera, probably a 16MP sensor. It will come with HMD’s trademarked PureDisplay technology similar to its predecessor. The report also said the Nokia 6.3 price will be EUR 249 (approx Rs 20,500) for the base 3GB + 64GB variant. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the upcoming Nokia phone at the moment, but rumours suggest HMD Global may schedule an event sometime in Q3 2020 we should know information then.
