The Nokia 7.2 (first impression) smartphone has been silently launched in India. The mid-range offering is a follow up of Nokia 7.1 from last year. The new Nokia 7.2, introduced earlier this year at IFA 2019, features 48MP triple cameras with Zeiss optics, waterdrop-notch, always-on PureView display tech, and polymer composite chassis. The company claims that the build of the phone is twice as strong as polycarbonate and half the weight of aluminium. Just like the other Nokia phones, the Nokia 7.2 is also an Android One smartphone, comes running stock-Android OS out of the box, and guaranteed to receive security and major software updates for three years.
Nokia 7.2 price, availability
The Nokia 7.2 price in India starts at Rs 18,599 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant whereas the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM option costs Rs 19,599. The handset comes in Charcoal and Cyan Green hues and goes for sale in the country from September 23rd onwards on leading retail stores, Nokia e-store, and Flipkart. If we talk about launch offers, consumers purchasing Nokia 7.2 using HDFC Bank credit and debit cards on EMI and regular transactions done through Pinelabs terminals in retail stores, will receive a 10 percent cashback. Consumers purchasing Nokia 7.2 on Nokia.com/phones will receive Rs 2,000 gift card whereas on Flipkart, they will be able to avail Rs 2,000 off as part of exchange offer. These offers are applicable till October 31st.

Talking about the specifications, the Nokia 7.2 ships with a 6.3-inch PureView display that bears full-HD+ resolution, always-on HDR, and 500nits brightness. The panel also has a small cut-out up top, which houses a 20-megapixel Zeiss quad-pixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens. The rear panel of the phone has triple cameras, arranged in a circular module that juts out of the frame. The setup includes a 48-megapixel (f/1.79) primary sensor + 5-megapixel depth-sensing sensor + 8-megapixel (f/2.2) wide-angle lens + LED flash.
While the Nokia 7.2 is Android 10-ready, it boots Android 9 Pie out of the box. Under the hood, the handset is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC, aided by up top 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, which can be further boosted up to 512GB using a microSD card. The phone houses a 3,500mAh battery with the 10W standard charging and sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other features include Google Assistant button, 4G LTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Type-C, NFC, and audio jack.
