- Nokia 7.3 quad camera setup may include an ultra-wide-angle lens, depth sensor and macro lens.
- Nokia 7.3 is expected to be a 5G phone powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC
- It is expected to launch alongside the Nokia 9.3 5G later this year
The Nokia 7.3 is expected to be announced alongside the Nokia 9.3 in Q3 2020, but the launch is largely based on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic across the globe. HMD Global is said to be evaluating several prototypes of the Nokia 7.3. Now, according to a new report from NokiaPowerUser citing insider sources, the handset is said to have a quad camera setup on the back with improved image quality and better night mode compared to its predecessor, the Nokia 7.2. One of the prototypes is said to be equipped with a 48MP primary sensor, however, a 64MP sensor is also being considered. The Nokia 7.3 camera setup may also include an ultra-wide-angle lens, a depth sensor, and a new dedicated macro sensor, which is a similar configuration as seen on the latest Nokia 8.3 5G that has a 64MP primary sensor, a 12MP secondary camera, and a couple of 2MP sensors.
Furthermore, Nokia 7.3 is also said to feature an improved selfie camera, upgrading from 20MP on the Nokia 7.2 to a 24MP or 32MP lens. Earlier reports claim that HMD Global is testing two Nokia 7.3 prototypes — one with 5G that could be powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC. Since we’re still months away for the official announcement, things might take a turn at any point.
Separately, there have been quite a few developments with regards to the Nokia 9.3 PureView leaks. A recent report suggested the handset would still retain the same Penta-camera setup, but without the Light camera technology, and that it will have a big 108MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Other reports suggest a 64MP primary camera sensor with OIS, but unfortunately, details regarding the other two sensors are unknown at the moment. The Nokia 9.3 PureView is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and will have 5G connectivity and wireless charging support. For selfies, the smartphone is said to offer a 48MP front-facing camera. These specifications seem a bit over-the-top and the final product may be completely different.
