“The Nokia 8 Android 9 Pie update is being rolled out in a gradual manner and brings the December 2018 Android Security Patch”
The Nokia 8 Android 9 Pie stable update has finally started rolling out after a long delay. This update comes just a week after the Android Pie beta update was released for Nokia 8 for fans eagerly waiting for a taste of the latest version of Android. It was previously rumoured that HMD Global had been delaying releasing the Nokia 8 Android Pie update in order to boost sales of the new Nokia 8.1 smartphone, a claim that was refuted by the company’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas.
In a tweet, Sarvikas announced that the Nokia 8 Android 9 Pie update is being released now. However, not all users of the smartphone will get the update immediately as this is a phased rollout. To check if your unit is part of the initial rollout, then check the System Update section of the System menu in Settings app on your phone.
The new Nokia 8 Android Pie stable update brings the new gesture-based UI to the smartphone. Along with this, the handset will now have Adaptive Battery power prioritisation for commonly used apps as well as Adaptive and optimised brightness levels. The update also brings the Android Security Patch for December 2018.
