The Nokia 800 Tough is a rugged mobile phone thanks to the IP68 certification and the MIL-STD-810G rating. The device is designed to survive drops, and offers resistance to dust, sand, extreme temperatures, and water (up to under 1.5m depth for 30 minutes). The handset sports an anti-slip rubberised grip, large buttons, and a sturdy-looking camera module at the rear. Notably, there’s also a large flashlight and a flap to cover the micro-USB charging port and the 3.5mm headphone socket on the top edge, and a loop the bottom to let you attach a lanyard.

Talking about the specs, the Nokia 800 Tough is a KaiOS-based offering that utilises the Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform. The chipset is paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The handset comes with a handful of apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, Snake, and Google Assistant, and you can install more apps from the KaiOS app store. The handset’s connectivity options include LTE Cat 4, VoLTE, VoWiFi, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi hotspot internet sharing. Lastly, the Nokia 800 Tough sports a 1,500mAh battery.

As for the pricing and availability, the Nokia 800 Tough has been priced at Euro 109 (~Rs 8,560), and will go on sale in select markets in October.
