[Exclusive]: Nokia 8110 4G feature phone to launch in India in September

Earlier today, Nokia launched the 5.1 Plus and 6.1 Plus (first impressions) smartphones in India. On the sidelines of the launch event, 91mobiles caught up with Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global. Sarvikas confirmed that Nokia is now planning to launch the 8110 4G feature phone in the country. While we haven’t been able to obtain the exact launch date, we do know that the handset will be landing in the country at some point in September.

The Nokia 8110 4G (first impressions) feature phone was unveiled at MWC 2018. The phone sports the same ‘Banana’ design as the original 8110, and comes pre-loaded with the iconic snake game. The handset boots Smart Feature OS, which is based on KaiOS, and also comes with a handful of apps like Google Assistant, Search, Google Maps, Twitter, and Facebook.

As for the other features, the Nokia 8110 4G feature phone offers a 2.4-inch curved QVGA display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform, aided by 512MB of RAM. The device comes with 4GB of built-in storage, and offers connectivity features like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, and micro-USB 2.0. The handset has a 2MP rear camera and a 1,500mAh battery.

In Europe, the Nokia 8110 4G is priced at €79 (~Rs 6,400), and comes in black and yellow hues. Even though it remains to be seen how HMD Global prices the handset, it’s worth mentioning that the phone is up for grabs on Amazon India unofficially for around Rs 5,700.
