HMD Global has long been rumoured to launch the successor to the Nokia 9 PureView, but the flagship has been seeing delays for multiple reasons. This time it’s reportedly due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused a delay in the company’s plans to launch a true 2020 flagship phone. The successor to the Nokia 9 PureView was previously tipped to be called Nokia 9.1 PureView or Nokia 9.2 PureView. Now, the phone is being referred to as the Nokia 9.3 PureView going by the naming scheme this year as the company recently launched the Nokia 8.3, Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 1.3. The Nokia flagship, which is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, was expected to launch at MWC 2020 before it was cancelled. According to the latest report from NokiaPowerUser, the smartphone will now launch between mid-2020 to late 2020.
Separately, NokiaPowerUser has also reported key Nokia 9.3 PureView specifications. The handset is said to flaunt a 6.29-inch Quad HD+ P-OLED display with Corning Gorilla 6 layer and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone is tipped to feature an aluminum frame and a glass body. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage that may not be expandable. The Android One smartphone will run on stock Android 10 out of the box.
