“The Nokia 9 PureView is expected to be a Snapdragon 845 SoC-powered offering with five rear cameras”
It’s been a while since HMD Global has released a flagship Nokia Android smartphone. The last flagship offering from the brand was the Nokia 8 Sirocco, which was launched at MWC in February this year. However, now the company is working on its next-gen flagship smartphone, allegedly called the Nokia 9 PureView. Ahead of the unveiling, we’ve already seen several leaked images of the phone itself as well as its cases. Now, the device has just surfaced on Bluetooth certification’s website, which suggests towards its imminent launch.
Multiple variants of the purported Nokia 9 PureView have been certified by Bluetooth SIG. These models include the Nokia TA-1082, TA-1087, and TA-1094. Some of these variants, including the Nokia TA-1094 have already received mandatory certifications from multiple regulatory authority agencies like 3C and MIIT. The phone on Bluetooth SIG supports Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity option. The certification was published on the certification’s website just earlier today, but they haven’t completed the Bluetooth qualification process yet. Sadly, no other details of the device have been revealed by the certification at the moment.
In related news, just yesterday, some images of the Nokia 9 PureView’s alleged transparent case were leaked on the interwebs. The case of the device has seven cutouts at the rear. If the reports are to be believed, five of them will belong to different kind of camera sensors such as RGB, depth sensor, wide-angle lens, telephoto lens, and monochrome sensor. The other cutouts are expected to be used for the dual-tone LED flash and a proximity sensor.
Earlier reports have suggested that the Nokia 9 PureView could feature a 5.99-inch OLED display bearing a QHD+ resolution. The phone is rumoured to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, aided by 8GB of RAM. The device is said to boot Android 9 Pie out of the box and support wireless charging. A 4,150mAh battery is tipped to keep the show running.
According to the reports, HMD Global could introduce the Nokia 9 PureView at the Consumer Electronics Show in January next year. There also are reports towards unveiling at a later date at MWC 2019.
