“Nokia has partnered with the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart for the launch of Nokia-branded Smart TVs in India”

Nokia Smart TV is now confirmed to launch in India on December 5th. The Finnish company has partnered with the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart for the launch of Nokia-branded Smart TVs. Notably, this is its second collaboration with a tech-giant for televisions after Motorola. This means, apart from the Nokia-branding, everything, including manufacturing to distribution across the country, will be handled by Flipkart. Unfortunately, the invite nor the company has revealed anything about the TV just yet.

The recent Nokia Smart TV leaked image revealed slim bezels with brushed metal design and dedicated JBL speakers for an immersive audio experience. The TV was recently also spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), revealing it will have a 55-inch 4K UHD panel and a model number 55CAUHDN. The Nokia TV will have support for Dolby Audio and DTS TruSurround through the front-firing speakers. It will also ship with Android 9.0 Pie along with Google Play Store and Assistant support built-in. It is said to feature ‘Intelligent Dimming technology’, that uses algorithms to offer better contrast and deeper blacks

The upcoming Nokia Smart TV will be taking on Vu, Xiaomi, Motorola, iFFALCON, Thomson, and more in the affordable Smart TV segment. Flipkart is aiming to target Tier-2 and Tier-3 city consumers. With the launch just a week away, we should be knowing more information about the Nokia Smart TV then. Stick around.
