Nokia seems to be working on a new budget smartphone that’ll most likely arrive with an affordable price tag. The handset with model number Nokia TA-1258 has been spotted in Chinese certification authority TENAA, revealing its design and specifications. The identity of the Nokia TA-1258 phone remains vague at the moment, but it could be part of the Nokia 1 or Nokia 2 lineup. As per the listing, the Nokia TA-1258 phone will sport a Gold Sand paint job and traditional 18:9 aspect ratio display with a capacitive fingerprint scanner at the back.
Coming to the specifications, the Nokia TA-1258 will reportedly pack a 5.99-inch HD+ (720 x 1,440 pixels) display. The handset said to be powered by 1.6GHz octa-core chipset, rumoured to be Unisoc SC9863 SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB (eMMC 5.1) storage, which will be expandable up to 400GB with microSD card. Software-wise, the phone will like be an Android One device with stock Android 10 software out of the box.
The Nokia TA-1258 smartphone will most likely rock a single 8MP camera at the back with LED flash, while the front camera could sport a 5MP shooter for selfies and video calling. There will be a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. A 3,040mAh battery may drive the entire setup. In terms of connectivity, the handset is said to feature dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS + GLONASS, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone will measure 159.6mm × 77mm × 8.5mm. Apart from Gold sand, the Nokia phone with TA-1258 model number is also expected to come in Nordic Blue colour option. The phone is speculated to launch sometime in August.
