Nokia Unveils E7, C7 & C6-01 at Nokia World

Nokia Unveiled three new smart phones based on the latest Symbian^3 platform during the Nokia World event at London. The phones that were announced were Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6. The phones are part of the company’s new line up of Smart Phones with Nokia N8 leading the pack. All the phones run on the latest edition of the Symbian mobile OS which the company claims, brings more than 250 new features including enhancement in speed and intuitiveness. The new devices are integrated with enhanced Ovi services and apps, keeping in mind the new trends in the mobile industry that is increasingly being defined by socially connected, location-based devices and experiences. “Today our fight back to smart phone leadership shifts into high gear,” said Niklas Savander, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia. “Despite new competition, Symbian remains the most widely used smart phone platform in the world.  Our new family of smart phones introduced today feature the all-new Symbian OS, rewritten to be faster, easier to use, more efficient and more developer friendly.” Savander also commented on the high level of anticipation for the Nokia N8. “Based on the level of consumer interest and the highest online pre-orders in Nokia history, we expect big things from the Nokia N8.” Nokia E7 Nokia-E7_3_lores The Nokia E7 is in the league of the Communicator series and what the company positions as the ultimate business smart phone. It looks identical to the N8, only with a bigger 4 inch screen and a slide out full QWERTY keypad. It has an 8 megapixel camera and supports HD video recording at 720p(the N8 packs in a 12 megapixel camera). It also ropes in the essential business features like Mail for Exchange with MS Outlook sync of contacts, calendar, and notes and multiple calendars with meeting request support, IBM Lotus Notes Traveler, Quick office dynamic premium, Adobe PDF reader, and F-Secure Anti-theft. Nokia also promises complete corporate grade security with the device and claims that the phone has been designed in a way to facilitate business use like checking presentations, sending mails and creating notes. It does not have a microSD card but packs in 16GB of inbuilt memory. This phone has an AMOLED screen with Nokia’s new ClearBlack technology to ensure good visibility in sun light. The launch price of this phone is 495 Euros excluding taxes and subsidies. Nokia C7 Nokia-C7_mahogany_brown_1_loresNokia-C7_front_and_back_lores The Nokia C7 which is a stripped down version of the Nokia N8 and features an 8 megapixel camera, a 3.5 inch AMOLED display, social networking integration and home screen widgets. The phone is designed exquisitely with a combination of stainless steel, glass and soft edges. It has an internal memory of 8GB and features a memory card slot. It is priced at 335 Euros excluding taxes and subsidies. Nokia C6-01 Nokia-C6-01_1_loresNokia-C6-01_6_lores The Nokia C6-01 is the budget smart phone based on the Symbian^3 platform. Surprisingly, even this device features a high quality ClearBlack AMOLED screen and an 8 megapixel camera. Estimated retail price is EUR 260, excluding taxes and subsidies. The phones will be available by Q4 2010 in all major markets. These phones will include an upgraded version of the Ovi Store, Ovi music and free navigation through Ovi Maps.
