“As per the benchmarks, the Nokia 7.1 Plus could be a mid-range offering with a Snapdragon 710 processor and 6GB of RAM”
While the much-anticipated Nokia 7.1 Plus was missing from the event HMD Global hosted in India yesterday, more details about the rumoured smartphone have appeared online. Ahead of an official announcement, the alleged Nokia X7 – which is expected to be the name of the Nokia 7.1 Plus for the Chinese market – has been benchmarked by Geekbench, which has spilled beans on some of the phone’s specifications. For those unaware, HMD Global is hosting an event in China on October 16th, where the Nokia X7 may go official.
As per the listing on Geekbench, the Nokia X7 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. This is an octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.71GHz. The phone has been benchmarked with 6GB of RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo. The device has managed a single-core score of 1,827 and a multi-core score of 5,937. Sadly, the benchmarks haven’t revealed anything else regarding its upcoming smartphone.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus was recently spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. The certification revealed that the phone could come with a 6.18-inch TFT display featuring a resolution of 2,246 x 1,080 pixels. The handset is expected to come in two RAM and storage configurations 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The device is tipped to boot Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, and arrive as an Android One offering.
Talking about the other specs, the Nokia 7.1 Plus could come with a 13-megapixel primary shooter at the rear, aided by a 12-megapixel secondary snapper. For selfies and video calling, the device is expected to sport a 20-megapixel shooter. In terms of connectivity, the handset could arrive with the regular set of specs such as 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. There’s no word regarding its battery capacity at the moment. While it’s not officially confirmed, the phone is expected to cost less than Rs 25,000 after conversion.
