Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chipset, the company’s founder and CEO Carl Pei revealed at MWC 2023 on Tuesday. Pei did not reveal the exact name of the chipset, so it could be either the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. We believe it could be the former as it would allow the brand to price the device more competitively. The Nothing CEO had previously stated that the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) would be a “more premium” device than the Phone (1).

Nothing Phone (2) will get a flagship processor

The Nothing Phone (2) being powered by a Snapdragon 8 series chipset means that it won’t be a mid-range device like its predecessor. To recall, the Nothing Phone (1) is powered by the Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset. Not much else has been revealed about the phone’s specifications at the moment. Pei plans to launch the Nothing Phone (2) later this year, and the company is not rushing with it. They want to take their time with the successor to make sure it offers the right set of premium features.
