Nothing Phone (2) receives new incremental Nothing OS 3.0 update with May 2025 security patch and more

Nothing has announced the rollout of a new update for the Nothing Phone (2) smartphone. It has received the latest incremental update based on Nothing OS 3.0. To recall, the Nothing OS 3.0 stable update based on Android 15 was rolled out to the smartphone in December 2024. The new update may not be big but is crucial for protecting the device against the latest vulnerabilities and ensuring improved system security and stability.

Nothing Phone (2) new software update details

The update announcement was made by the brand through a new post on X (formerly Twitter). It brings the May 2025 security patch to the smartphone.
Nothing has enhanced the privacy features on the smartphone by integrating the new Privacy Space feature. It can be accessed by swiping right in the app drawer and allows users to keep selected apps private.
Users can also set different passwords for App Locker and Privacy Space, which further increases the privacy.
The Nothing Gallery app also gets a refresh with a perfect blend of simplicity and elegance to align with the brand’s tagline.
The face unlock vibration for the lock screen can now be disabled with the touch feedback toggle in the Settings app.
The Phone (2) users can enjoy more stable cellular network connections and enhanced Wi-Fi and system stability.
Nothing also enhances the accessibility experience for the Status Bar and Notification Centre.

How to install new Nothing OS update on Phone (2)

Before starting the update process, ensure your Nothing Phone (2) has sufficient storage space, is adequately charged, and connected to a stable internet connection. It’s also recommended to back up your data to avoid any loss.

Now, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Nothing Phone (2).
Step 2: Tap on System.
Step 3: Select System Update. Your device will begin checking for available updates. If the update is available, tap Download and Install.
