Nothing Phone (3a) series confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon chipset

The Nothing Phone (3a) series is set to launch globally on March 4th. The lineup is expected to consist of a standard Nothing Phone (3a) and another Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, with the latter rumoured to replace the Phone (2a) Plus. So far, the London-based brand has teased the Glyph interface and a dedicated button with unknown function on the upcoming offerings. Now, Nothing has officially confirmed details of the processor on the Phone (3a) series.

Nothing is going back to Snapdragon SoC with the Phone (3a) series

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (3a) series will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The exact name of the chipset has not been revealed yet. However, the ‘series’ wording suggests that both phones will adopt the Snapdragon chip.

We speculate the chipset could be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, as the logo of the chipset matches the one teased by Nothing.

CEO Carl Pei stated that the upcoming offering will have a 25 percent faster CPU and a 72 percent faster GPU compared to the Phone (2a) Plus.
The brand uses Qualcomm’s chipset for its flagship phone with the Phone (2) that debuted in 2023 running on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
To recall, the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus are equipped with a Dimensity 7200 Pro and Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC respectively.
The rest of the details of the Phone (3a) series are expected to be revealed in the days leading up to the launch event.

Nothing Phone 3a series: what we know so far

As per leaks and rumours, the Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to come in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations and Black and White colour options. Meanwhile, the Phone (3a) Pro could be available in the sole 12GB + 256GB option.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Series will retain the signature transparent design and Glyph Interface found on its predecessor.
The pill-shaped camera module looks slightly bigger hinting at an additional sensor in form of telephoto unit which has also been cryptically teased. An iPhone-like Action button is also expected.
The upcoming offering is confirmed to be available from Flipkart.
The Phone (3a) recently bagged TDRA certification confirming its moniker.
The upcoming offerings are also confirmed to be made in India at the company’s factor in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The Nothing Phone (2a) debuted last March whereas the (2a) Plus was announced in July at a starting price tag of Rs 23,999 and Rs 27,999 respectively.
