nubia announced the Alpha foldable smartwatch and nubia pods truly wireless earbuds at the MWC 2019 event in February. Now, the company along with the Red Magic 3 announced the products would launch in India in May. However, the brand hasn’t revealed any specific date yet. The nubia ear pods are the company’s first truly wireless earbuds and are designed in partnership with 1MORE, while the nubia Alpha comes with flexible OLED display.

The nubia Alpha packs 4-inch OLED display with 960 x 192 pixels resolution, an ultrawide aspect ratio of 45:9. The display manufactured by Visionox, a flexible screen specialist, is being touted to be the largest screen on a wearable; it bends along the wrist of the wearer, just like a smartwatch. The brand claims a heat-resistant polymer called Polyimide protects the screen. It is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC combined with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. In the software department, the smartwatch runs custom ZTE skin powered by Android for wearable products. It allows users to access apps and various information using voice commands, multi-touch, and air gestures.

For navigation, the smartwatch has two physical buttons – back and voice. There is also a 5-megapixel camera for clicking selfies and pictures. The nubia Alpha also doubles up as a fitness tracker with sleep, exercise, and heart rate monitoring features. A 500mAh battery fuels the device. The nubia pods come with Bluetooth 5.0 with Qualcomm Aptx. It comes with LDS Laser antenna for stable Bluetooth connectivity. The ear pods sport a 45-degree ergonomic design and pack MEMS microphone. It comes with 55mAh battery that can offer 6.5 hours of playback and 24 hours with the 410mAh battery on charging case. We should know the pricing and availability when the brand launches them in India officially.
