nubia confirmed that it will launch a flagship phone with Snapdragon 865 SoC and dual-mode 5G connectivity this year. Now, the brand’s president Ni Fei has posted a teaser of the upcoming nubia Red Magic 5G phone and demonstrated its low latency wireless screencasting feature. While we don’t get to see how the setup actually works, the games ran fine with no noticeable lag. Though the design of the phone isn’t fully revealed, it seems to have sizeable bezels on the front and appears to be in line with the Red Magic 3S.

The nubia Red Magic 5G is said to come with 55W fast-charging support, as revealed by China’s 3C certification. The handset will come with a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling, which is neat. Unfortunately, nothing much is known about the nubia Red Magic 5G phone at the moment, but since the company started teasing it, we should hear more information soon.

To recall, the nubia Red Magic 3S sports a 6.65-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, DC dimming and 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution. The handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC and it comes in two variants: 8GB RAM + 128GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with Redmagic OS 2.1 custom skin on top. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, front-firing stereo speakers, DTS:X and 3.5mm audio jack.

In terms of optics, the Red Magic 3S features a single 48MP primary (f/1.75) Sony IMX586 sensor with Dual LED flash. On the front, it has a 16MP sensor for selfies and video chats. Connectivity features include Dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and USB Type-C for charging and data sync. A 5,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support fuels the phone.
