With an aim to attract mobile gamers, Chinese smartphone maker Nubia RedMagic has launched two gaming smartphones – Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro and RedMagic 8 Pro+ – in China. The smartphones come as successors to the RedMagic 7 Pro and RedMagic 7S Pro from last year.

Both smartphones are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which make them the first gaming smartphones with the new flagship SoC. Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro price

The Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro comes in four storage variants – 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB – and is priced at CNY 3,999 (approx Rs 47,525), CNY 4,399 (approx Rs 52,278) and CNY 4,799 (approx Rs 57,025), respectively. The smartphone also has a transparent colour variant, offering 12GB+256GB internal storage. It is priced at CNY 4,999 (approx Rs 59,401), respectively.

The premium-looking Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro+ starts at CNY 5,199 (approx Rs 61,785) for the base 12GB+256GB storage option. The 16GB+512GB variant at CNY 5,799 (approx Rs 68,914). The smartphone also comes in a transparent back variant with three storage variants. The 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB variants are priced at CNY 5,399 (approx Rs 64,159), CNY 5,999 (approx Rs 71,289), CNY 6,999 (approx Rs 83,169).

Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro, RedMagic 8 Pro+ specifications

In terms of display, both smartphones feature a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 960Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 1300 nits brightness. A flat frame in both devices houses 520Hz shoulder triggers. They sport a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. They also come with a 16MP under-display camera for selfies and videos.

The new Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro and RedMagic 8 Pro+ are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. An upgraded internal cooling system – ICE 11.0 – has an in-built fan and an air duct. The cooling system includes up to 10 layers of heat dissipation materials and a 3D ice-grade dual pump, which helps lower the temperature by 16 degrees. They run Android 13-based RedMagic OS 6.0 out of the box.

The battery and quick charging technology make up most of the differences between the two phones’ characteristics. A 5,000mAh battery with 165W rapid charging capabilities is included in the RedMagic 8 Pro+. On the other hand, the RedMagic 8 Pro has a 6,000mAh battery and 80W rapid charging.
