nubia – at an event in China today – has unleashed its much-anticipated flagship, offering the nubia X smartphone. The handset has been in talks ever since it was revealed that it will feature dual displays and other exciting features. The phone’s primary edge-to-edge display comes with close to 100 percent screen-to-body ratio, and under the hood, it employs Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset (period).

The nubia X comes with a front-facing 6.26-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, while on the rear it flaunts a 5.1-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) OLED touchscreen secondary display. The front panel comes with a 93.6 percent screen to body ratio and visibly thin bezels that the company claims are just 0.8mm thick. Moving on, the rear screen also supports always-on display feature that allows you to view notifications and other useful stuff without waking up the device. Users can make use of nubia X dual displays simultaneously and whatever is visible on the front panel can also be seen on the back screen when you switch the device over.
The nubia X is powered by 2.8Ghz Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. The phone comes pre-loaded with nubia UI 6.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. For photography, the handset doesn’t sport a front facing camera. Thanks to its secondary display on the back panel the dual camera modules can be used click selfies as well. The camera comprises of a 16MP f/1.8 aperture primary sensor and a 24MP f/1.7 aperture secondary sensor with LED flash AI optimisation to further enhance the results.
For security, the nubia X employs a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the right edge with volume rockers on the left spine. A 3,800mAh battery with NeoPower 3.0 fast charging support fuels the device. Despite its dual display, the manufacturer has managed to keep the depth of the smartphone to 8.4mm that matches to the thickness the thickness of Mi MIX 3 smartphone that was recently launched.
nubia X price and availability
The nubia X prices start from RMB 3299 (~ Rs 34,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option that goes up to RMB 4299 (~Rs 46,000) for the top-end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The handset comes in four shades, including black and gradient blue colour option. It goes for sale in China from November 5th with its pre-booking starting from today, i.e. October 31st.
