Oben Electric has begun deliveries of the Oben Rorr and has delivered the electric bike to 25 odd customers at its inaugural event in Bengaluru. However, the electric bike which is being delivered is slightly different from the model that was showcased earlier. The bike now commands a higher price tag and offers a lesser range than promised. Additionally, the Oben Rorr now complies with the latest safety regulations.
Oben Rorr bike new features
The Oben Rorr electric bike is now equipped with an LFP or lithium-iron-phosphate battery with optimisations that have been enforced to comply with new regulations set forth by the Government of India. These changes have brought down the IDC-certified range from 200km to 187km per charge from the 4.4kWh battery pack.
The changes have also come at the cost of a price premium and the Oben Rorr is now priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The Obenn Rorr is packaged with a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty and can be extended to 5 years or 75,000km. The company also bundles along a 3 years motor warranty, free roadside assistance and a nationwide access to over 12,000 charging stations.
Oben Electric claims it has received over 20,000 pre-orders for the electric bike. The EV startup is working on expanding its production capacity and distribution networks by opening more showrooms and service centres across the country.
