Obi Mobiles is all set to launch a new Android smartphone in the Indian market. The company has listed the Obi Falcon S451 on its website. Moreover, a Mumbai based retailer, Mahesh Telecom has also confirmed the availability of the phone for Rs 7,999, while its MRP is slated at Rs 9,999. Surprisingly, the phone comes with the dated Android Jelly Bean on board, while most of the recent entry-level smartphones launched in India run the latest 4.4 KitKat.
As per the listing on the company’s website, the Obi Falcon S451 features a 4.5-inch qHD IPS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. The phone offers 4GB of internal memory, which is further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. It sports an 8MP rotating shooter with CMOS sensor, dual LED flash and autofocus. The dual-SIM device comes with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS connectivity features. It is fuelled by a 2,200mAh battery, which according to the listing offers eight hours of talk time and 230 hours of standby time.
Obi Mobiles recently launched four Android smartphones, the S452 Python, S501 Wolverine, S450 and S500 in India. These phones are priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,000, and are targeted at budget conscious buyers. These phones are offered with a dual-core processors, dual-SIM slots, regular connectivity options and 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot.
