Okinawa Oki90 beings tested ahead of launch
The Okinawa Oki90 has been spotted testing on public roads albeit with heavy camouflage (via 91Wheels). The camouflage makes it difficult to perceive the actual design cues and paint schemes but however it is possible to distinguish some of the design features. The design is a departure from the traditional designs takes a slightly sporty approach and resembles Aprilia’s sporty scooters.
There is a single-piece seat with the pillion sitting slightly raised, chunky silver-finished grab rails that form a luggage bay, and a wide and sleek rear tail lamp. The rear body panel curves up sharply making the rear swingarm, drive system, suspension, tyres, and tyre huggers visible. The floorboard looks adequately thick to host the battery pack that will lower the centre of gravity contributing to its ride dynamics. The ride and handling experience will also be affected by the choice of larger, what looks like 15-inch alloy rims.
The front-end design is rather conventional with an LED lighting array – an LED headlamp and LED DRLs and turn indicators on the front apron. The mirrors are chrome backed and the general look gets some chrome treatment.
