“The Ola Auto-Connect Wi-Fi service allows users to automatically connect to Wi-Fi in Ola Prime cabs”
Ola, the popular mobile-based taxi-hailing service in India, has announced the launch of a new service for its riders. The company has launched an internet service called Auto-Connect Wi-Fi for its Ola Prime users in the country. The service allows users to automatically connect to Wi-Fi in an Ola Prime cab in select cities.
Ola Prime subscribers will get one-time Wi-Fi login credentials to use the Auto-Connect Wi-Fi service, and after connecting to the Wi-Fi, they will be connected in all their future Prime rides. The company hasn’t yet mentioned the internet service provider it has partnered with to provide internet services in its cabs.
Ola will be initially offering the Auto-Connect Wi-Fi service for its Ola Prime users, and will roll out the same service in 102 cities in the future for its Micro, Mini and Auto riders. In a press release, the company said that around 65 percent of Ola Prime riders connected to the Wi-Fi in its cabs and consumed 2TB of data every month in the testing phase.
