Chinese smartphone maker Oneplus has confirmed that its recently launched smartphone, the OnePlus 11R 5G, will receive three major Android updates and four years of security updates. No similar announcement was made for the OnePlus 11R 5G, which also made its debut at the same event. In response to a user on Twitter, OnePlus’ Support account revealed that the OnePlus 11R will receive three major Android updates and four years of security updates. This is the most software updates any R-series phone has received, indicating that both newly released OnePlus smartphones will receive up to Android 17. The devices currently ship with Android 13-based OxygenOS.

Only a few devices priced under Rs 40,000 are eligible for up to four years of Android OS updates. Most of them only offer a maximum of two or three versions. The OnePlus 11R 5G is a great option for those who want an affordable OnePlus phone that is expected last longer and stays relevant (at least on the software side of things) with 4 major Android updates.

OnePlus 11R 5G India price, availability, specifications

The newly launched OnePlus 11R 5G starts at Rs 39,999 for the base 8GB+128GB storage variant and Rs 44,999 for the 16GB+256GB model. The smartphone will be available for pre-order from February 21st and will go on the first sale on February 28th.

The smartphone comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The smartphone comes equipped with a 16MP selfie camera on the front. The OnePlus 11R 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with Adreno GPU. The handset houses a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charge support.

In terms of connectivity options, the smartphone includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, an alert slider, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
