OnePlus 13s India launch has been officially teased, although the exact release date isn’t out yet. This will be the first compact flagship from OnePlus, and it’s expected to be a rebrand of the OnePlus 13T in China. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has teased the new ‘Plus Key’ on the 13s, which will replace the iconic Alert Slider. Here’s all you need to know.
OnePlus 13s ‘Plus Key’ button to replace Alert Slider
- OnePlus has shared a teaser video highlighting the new ‘Plus Key’ that will act as the new side button on the 13s.
- This button replaces the iconic Alert Slider that acted as a shortcut key to switch between general, silent mode, and DND.
- The new Plus Key on the OnePlus 13s can be used to activate silent mode, launch the camera app, turn the flashlight on, and more. It’s similar to the Action Button on the latest iPhones.
- OnePlus 13s would be the first phone to debut this new button, as the OnePlus 13 and 13R feature the Alert Slider.

What we know about the OnePlus 13s so far
- OnePlus 13s has been listed on Amazon with a dedicated microsite revealing new details about the site.
- It’s confirmed to launch in two colours: Black Velvet and Pink Satin.
- OnePlus 13s will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, just like the flagship OnePlus 13. So, you will get a top clock speed up to 4.32GHz, which is the current best in the Android world.
- The compact smartphone will feature a 6.32-inch display.
In terms of design, the OnePlus 13s looks quite different from the OnePlus 13 and 13R. The main difference is the camera setup, which is square-shaped on the 13s as opposed to the circular design on the 13 and 13R.
Should you wait for OnePlus 13s
If you prefer a compact flagship with flagship performance and a fresh design change, the OnePlus 13s is worth waiting for. It packs the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as the top-end OnePlus 13 into a more pocket-friendly 6.32-inch form factor. The new Black Velvet and Pink Satin finishes look fine, and the square-shaped camera module brings a distinct look compared to its circular-housed siblings.
The OnePlus 13s launch date is expected to be revealed soon. It will most likely be priced lower than the OnePlus 13, which costs Rs 69,999 in India.
