Alleged OnePlus 15 key specifications tipped: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, 6.78-inch display and more

OnePlus 13 flagship debuted originally in China in October last year and expanded to global markets in January this year. The lineup was recently expanded with the OnePlus 13T (OnePlus 13s in India). The latest developments suggest that the brand is already working on the successor, the OnePlus 15 (the number ‘4’ is considered a bad omen in Asian countries). DigitalChatStation, a tipster from China, has shed some light on the device’s specifications. Here are the details.

Possible OnePlus 15 specifications (tipped)

DigitalChatStation on Weibo, without explicitly mentioning the name of the phone, has tipped the key specifications.
The handset in question is said to be the OnePlus 15, successor to the OnePlus 13.

The tipster notes the flagship will have a lightweight and minimalistic design. This means the brand may finally move on from the large circular camera module.
The flagship is tipped to sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO straight screen. This is a significant downgrade over the 2K panel on the OnePlus 13.
The screen is said to feature a large-radius corner design and uses an advanced LIPO packaging process, which is said to allow for narrow bezels.
The industrial design (ID) is said to offer an ultra-symmetrical front, something similar to the iPhone Pro series.
The OnePlus 15 could be powered by the SM8850 SoC, which could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. This is most likely as OnePlus flagships use the latest Qualcomm chipsets.
The phone could have a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP camera.
Another tipster, Smart Pikachu, notes the camera setup will include a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. This is a significant upgrade over the 50MP 3x telephoto lens on the OnePlus 13.

How is OnePlus 15 different from OnePlus 13?

Based on the leaked specifications, the OnePlus 15 could be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Elite present on the OnePlus 13.
The display corners could get rounder while the resolution may dip from 2K to 1.5K.
The phone could retain the 50MP rear camera setup from OnePlus 13, but there’s also a possibility the periscope lens may be upgraded to a 200MP unit.
One can also expect higher battery capacity on the OnePlus 15.
