OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T new open beta updates in India bring caller ID feature

“New OxygenOS open beta updates for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T include January security patch and several new features”

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users have started receiving new open beta updates for OxygenOS. The updates are arriving as Open Beta 25 and Open Beta 23 for the two smartphones, respectively. These include the January security patch for both the devices along with a host of new features. OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users who already have the beta software installed on their units will get the updates over the air, while others will have to flash the beta ROM first.

To start off with, the updates bring screen brightness control as well as colour adaptation for navigation bar while using third-party apps. Also, users will now be able to confirm the pin without tapping “√” for app locker. The launcher will also have an improved UI for the category tags in the app drawer. In the Gallery app, there are new features to create collection as well as to copy and move photos. The updates also added new illustrations and design on blank pages and brings some general big fixes to improve the overall experience.

There will be a call history for every incoming call from an unknown number now onwards with the new updates, along with UI improvements for call history as well as deeper Google Duo integration. Also, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T units in India running the new beta software will get a caller identification feature.

The updates also include several additions to the Weather app. Now, users can have more search options to improve the accuracy of search results, more detailed descriptions to weather icons and more unit options for precipitation, visibility, pressure and other data. Lastly, with the help of the latest Open Beta updates, the OnePlus Switch app can now support migrating data from iPhone.

It should be noted that beta softwares are usually buggy in nature; users can inform OnePlus about the bugs they encounter on the bug reporting forum on its official website. There is a Feedback tool on the Community App too, where the users can report bugs and share Logs directly with the fixers.
