“The OnePlus 5 brings a lot of new stuff to the table, but comes packed in a familiar-looking box”
OnePlus has finally unveiled its flagship device for this year and the handset looks quite promising. The brand takes pride in the fact that it offers high-end features at a lower price than other flagships, and the OnePlus 5 (review) is no different. We have got our hands on the smartphone, and here’s a sneak peak at its retail box and contents.
Had it not been for the giant ‘5’ emblazoned on the front, you can easily mistake the packaging for one of the earlier releases from the brand. While OnePlus has radically redesigned the device, it has maintained the consistency in its packaging. However, this year OnePlus has added a camera sample card in the packaging to emphasise upon the camera prowess of the OnePlus 5.

As mentioned above, the handset comes in an all-white box with minimal branding on the front and sides. Pulling the top of the box reveals the OnePlus 5 sitting in the familiar red tray. Lifting the handset reveals the camera samples leaflet and the other documentation. Beneath them, the Dash charging cable and 5V – 4A Dash Charging wall charger rest in their respective compartments. Also included in the packaging is the SIM-ejector pin and a screen protector (pre-applied on the OnePlus 5).
For the uninitiated, the OnePlus 5 is not only the slimmest (7.25mm) from the brand but also features the first ever dual-camera module in the brand’s line-up. It also happens to be one of the very few smartphones to come with the newest Snapdragon 835 SoC mated to 6GB / 8GB RAM. The other specs of the handset include a 5.5-inch full HD display, Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Oxygen OS and 16MP front camera.
