“The Lava Red Edition marks the fourth anniversary of the brand and comes in 8GB RAM variant only”

Last year was quite eventful for OnePlus as it launched the OnePlus 5T (review), which was an upgrade to the OnePlus 5 (review) and came within 6 months of its predecessor. However, the 5T isn’t just another iterative upgrade as it brings a taller 18:9 display and better cameras to the package. The device was met with such incredible response that the brand went on to launch a couple of limited edition variants of the same. The first was the Star Wars Limited Edition, which came in white, with a Star Wars logo at the back. The brand then went on to end the year with its fourth anniversary offering in fiery red paint, called the OnePlus 5T Lava Red.

Coming to the spec sheet of the smartphone, the Limited Edition Lava Red OnePlus 5T comes in the 8GB RAM configuration only, and shares its specs with the regular 5T. Just to recap, the specs include a 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED display panel that offers FHD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display has been protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer. Since there are minimal bezels on the front panel, the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the rear panel of the phone.

To drive the performance it gets a Snapdragon 835 SoC, mated to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The imaging department comprises a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup on the back and a 16-megapixel shooter on front. This time around, both sensors on the back have an aperture size of f/1.7 for better low-light imaging. The phone runs Oxygen OS based on Android Nougat out of the box and is powered by a 3,300mAh battery that features Dash charging.

Now its time to talk about the key difference between this and the regular midnight black variant of the handset. The Lava Red version of the handset has an all black fascia and a radiant red paint job on the rear panel. Take a look for yourself at the device in the gallery below.

The Lava Red Edition has been priced the same as the regular variant – Rs 37,999 and can be picked from Amazon, Oneplusstore.in, Croma stores and OnePlus experience stores in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi.
