Last night, OnePlus finally pulled the covers off its landmark flagship – OnePlus 6T (review) – in New York. The company is now scheduled to launch the smartphone in India tonight at 8.30pm in New Delhi. As always, the handset maker is inviting its fan community in the country to be the part of the event and also live streamed on its local channel for many who were not able to get their hands on the event passes. While we wait for the OnePlus 6T price in India, it is expected that it will be only a shade higher than that of its predecessor. The handset’s US pricing for the 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB variants are $529 (~Rs 40,000), $579 (~Rs 42,500), and $629 (~Rs 44,000), respectively.
An Amazon.in listing just a day ago revealed that the smartphone will be available on the platform starting November 1. Launch offers have already been listed too, revealing customers will get Rs 2,000 instant bank discount on payments made using Citibank credit cards and ICICI Bank credit and debit cards. The e-commerce site is also offering no-cost EMIs, free damage protection, and instant cashback worth Rs 5,400 (36 vouchers of Rs 150 each) as well as up to 3TB of 4G data for Jio users.
As for the OnePlus 6T specifications, it comes with a 6.41-inch display, which sports a smaller waterdrop notch, full-HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The smartphone boots Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. For security, there is the Screen Unlock in-display fingerprint sensor that can unlock the handset in 0.34 seconds, accompanied by facial unlocking.
In the camera department, the smartphone offers 16MP + 20MP shooter on the back with enhanced HDR and additional Nightscape mode. For selfies and video calling, it retains the 16MP shooter from the predecessor. It also comes with a bigger 3,700mAh battery with 5V 4A fast-charging.
