“OnePlus 6T Geekbench listing shows the smartphone will have Android 9.0 Pie, octa-core 1.71GHz Snapdragon 845, and 8GB of RAM”
OnePlus 6T has made an appearance on Geekbench ahead of its official unveiling, confirming some of the features and specifications everyone had already been expecting from the handset. The alleged Geekbench listing is only the latest in a series of leaks surrounding the OnePlus 6T, which has been confirmed to launch on October 30th and will be unveiled in India as well as globally at the same time. The smartphone will be an affordable challenger to the likes of iPhone XS, Google Pixel 3 series, and Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and — as is the norm for the company — will keep the price within the reach of the masses despite the premium features and specifications.
The benchmark listing, first spotted by WinFuture.de, shows the OnePlus 6T will run the Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. This should not come as a surprise to fans and industry watchers as the OnePlus 6 has already received the Android Pie update, so the successor coming with the latest version of the OS was a given. Nonetheless, this will make the new smartphone one of the few models that comes with Android Pie out of the box.
The listing also shows the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the octa-core 1.77GHz Snapdragon 845 SoC, backed by 8GB of RAM. The model number mentioned in the benchmark is FS FS P8801. It has notched up a multi-core score of 8,639 and single-core score of 2,510 on the benchmark, in line with what its predecessor got.
OnePlus 6T India launch event will be hosted in New Delhi at 8:30pm IST on October 30th and at 11am ET in New York the same day. Fans can attend the event in both cities by purchasing tickets from the official site, and pre-order it on Amazon India as well as Croma stores, and OnePlus Experience Stores across the country. It will become available on open sale in the country starting November 2nd.
It has been confirmed to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor and the 3.5mm earphone jack a miss. The smartphone reportedly has a 6.41-inch display with full-HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch, and vertically-stacked dual rear cameras. Battery capacity is said to be 3,700mAh, and variants will reportedly be the same as that of OnePlus 6, namely 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB.
