“OnePlus 7 Pro alleged live images show the phone might come with Snapdragon 855, X50 5G modem, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage.”
As announced at the MWC 2019 event in February, OnePlus is currently working on its 5G phone along with its regular flagship, dubbed the OnePlus 7. Recently a OnePlus device with GM1915 model number was spotted on Bluetooth SIG listing. Apart from the fact that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 and pack X50 5G modem, nothing else is known about the upcoming OnePlus flagship. To fill in the void, a couple of live images of a OnePlus phone with the same model number have surfaced on Weibo, revealing design and few specifications of the phone.
The ‘About phone’ section from the live image tells us the phone might be called OnePlus 7 Pro – where ‘Pro’ might potentially be denoting 5G capability. Furthermore, the handset is expected to sport a 6.67-inch Super Optic display with curved edges and minimal bezels. The handset has been tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 855, coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. As for the optics, the handset will likely feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary shooter which could be a wide-angle lens, and an 8MP third depth unit. As there is no notch, the phone might rock a pop-up slider to accommodate the selfie shooter.
The phone can be seen running on Android 9.0 Pie with a 9.5.1 GM31CB build number based on Oxygen OS in the image. However, the ‘About Phone’ section displays the OnePlus 6T image, which is confusing, but it could be possible that the phone might be running a test build of unfinished software. As revealed by the Bluetooth SIG listing, the phone will support Bluetooth 5.0. Unlike OnePlus’s usual model numbers, which start with the letter ‘A’, the upcoming OnePlus phone is using a new model number hinting that it might be the start of a new series in the company’s smartphone lineup.
I’m pretty sure you all will soon see OP7 leaks flooding on your timelines since I can confirm that the launch is in May. It seems like the the name of the more expensive smartphone is indeed gonna be OnePlus 7 Pro and tagline will be “Go Beyond Speed”. Although, it may change. pic.twitter.com/a42yjY0RY0— Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) April 10, 2019
Corroborating with above live images, a well-known leaker Ishan Agarwal has reported that the more expensive variant of the flagship series will indeed be called OnePlus 7 Pro and would come with the tag line “Go Beyond Speed.” He further claims that the phones will launch in May, which is in line with the company’s plan. Either way, we should know more details soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
