“The latest OxygenOS Open beta updates include several system improvements and bug fixes”
OnePlus is currently seeding new OxygenOS Open build for the latest OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro devices. The software update is based on the new Android 10 OS from Google. The Chinese manufacturer was one of the first non-Google brands to start seeding Android 10-based beta to its devices. Google’s Android 10 OS was released to Pixel devices and the Essential phone earlier this month. Other manufacturers will start seeding the update later this year, including OnePlus. This is the second Android 10 based OxygenOS Open beta for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.
Google released the final public version of Android 10 on September 3rd. On the same day, OnePlus also released the first beta of OxygenOS Open software for the OnePlus 7 series. The first beta included several new features, but also came with some bugs. With the release of the second open beta, OnePlus has killed some of those bugs and included other usability improvements.
According to the official changelog provided by OnePlus, the new update includes several bug fixes and stability improvements. It fixes the issue where the System UI would crash if a parallel version of WhatsApp was running. It also fixes the dark screen bug appearing on the lock screen when launching games, the Status bar not displaying UI elements, crash issue with fingerprint unlock, and the issue with the OnePlus gestures crashing sometimes. The update also includes a redesigned Wi-Fi toggle in Quick Settings. OnePlus has also optimised the animation for the scrolling action on Notification bar.
The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are currently receiving the OxygenOS Open Beta 2 software update in a staged manner. The update will be available as an OTA for those who’re running beta 1. It weighs only about 133MB, but we recommend that you download it over a stable Wi-Fi connection. The final version of Android 10 based OxygenOS should be available in a couple of months. OnePlus has also promised that Android 10 will be rolled out to the older OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. The first OxygenOS beta for those devices should also be available later this month.
