“The first software update for the OnePlus 7 Pro brings several improvements for the display, gaming, and camera”
OnePlus just launched its latest flagships dubbed the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro last night. It’s merely been a few hours since the unveiling and the Pro model has already received its first software update. First reported by 9to5Google, the phone has received OnePlus7ProOxygen_21_1905010142 firmware update, which brings a handful of new features like the security patch for April, the DC Dimming option, and more.
The first update for the OnePlus 7 Pro upgrades the OxygenOS version from 9.5.0 to 9.5.2. The new firmware brings improvements for the scrolling on the handset’s display that sports 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a new Fnatic gaming mode on board, which improves gaming performance by limiting access of data to background apps to deliver best possible connection when playing online games. Notably, the same update also brings tweaks to the haptic feedback, which allows you to configure the vibrations as per your liking.
As for the other features, the OnePlus 7 Pro update has a new version of Digital Wellbeing, which now offers features like the Wind Down and Grayscale, which allows you to reduce eye-strain to some extent. Notably, the new firmware brings the DC dimming feature, which users can access by going to Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Laboratory. The update also brings optimisations for the triple camera setup of the handset to deliver the best possible photos. Lastly, the new software fixes general bugs and other improvements.
The new firmware for the OnePlus 7 Pro is 494MB in size and seems to be rolling out in a phased manner. The update hasn’t arrived on our review unit at the moment. Once buyers start receiving the handset after May 17th, they can expect a similar update already available for the flagship out of the box. You will be able to upgrade to the new firmware by going to the Settings > System > System Updates.
