“The OnePlus 7 is basically the 6T with a newer flagship-grade processor and powerful rear camera

When OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro (review), only the latter went on sale at that time. This was perhaps to give the more expensive model a window to gain traction before the OnePlus 7 releases. Now, the brand has announced that the OnePlus 7 (first impressions) will be available to buy from June 4th. We managed to get our hands on the reviewer’s box of the OnePlus 7 and if you are thinking of picking one up, here’s what you will get when you purchase it.

OnePlus might have kept pace with the changing times and embraced the modern design language and latest specs, it has retained the red and white packaging. The box is quintessential OnePlus with minimal branding all around and a bold ‘7’ on the top. Take a look at the contents of the packaging below.

As soon as you open the lid, you’ll see the bright red cardboard box containing the clear plastic protective case, documentation, OnePlus stickers and a SIM-ejector tool. Below it, the OnePlus 7 lies atop the signature red USB Type-C cable and OnePlus’ proprietary Warp Charger. This is all there is to the retail box of the OnePlus 7. However, as mentioned above, as part of the reviewer’s box, we also received the slew of OnePlus 7 cases from the brand, which you can see below. These cases are available for purchase separately.

As far as specs are concerned, OnePlus 7 is basically the OnePlus 6T (review) with Snapdragon 855 SoC and a more powerful 48MP shooter at the back. The handset features a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. There is no pop-up selfie camera as it retains the same waterdrop notch as its predecessor. OnePlus is offering the smartphone in two configurations — 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. On the software front, the phone boots the latest Oxygen OS based on Android 9 Pie. For imaging, the OnePlus 7 has two sensors on the back — a 48MP f/1.7, 0.8μm shooter and a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The notch on the front houses a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Lastly, a 3,700mAh battery with 20W fast charging support fuels the entire package.

The OnePlus 7 will be sold in India through Amazon starting next week. The 6GB + 128GB variant will retail for Rs 32,999, while the 8GB and 256GB storage variant will set you back by Rs 37,999. On the closing note, here is a gallery of the OnePlus 7 in red paint job for you to check out.
