OnePlus next-gen flagships OnePlus 8 and OnePus 8 Pro are now official. The vendor launched the handsets at its online-only event last night. The all-new OnePlus 8 series comes with a refined design and premium flagship-grade features, including Snapdragon 865 SoC and up to 120Hz refresh rate, that makes it the most powerful devices from the company yet. Customary to OnePlus, it has also introduced new colour options of both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. There are a total of four colour options on offer this year: Onyx Black, Glacial Green, Interstellar Glow, and Ultramarine Blue. While Onyx Black and Glacial Green are common in both phones, Interstellar Glow is exclusive to OnePlus 8 and Ultramarine Blue to OnePlus 8 Pro. Let’s take a look at them in pictures:

The OnePlus 8 Onyx Black variant comes with a glossy finish, whereas the Glacial Green has a matte finish. The Interstellar Glow of OnePlus 8, meanwhile, touts gradient design. To start with, both Onyx Black and Glacial Green will come in both 8GB + 128GB as well as 12GB + 256GB configurations. Meanwhile, the Interstellar Glow hue is limited to only the buyers of 12GB + 256GB variant.

There is also a Polar Silver colour option, which is exclusive to Verizon network in the US. The colour variant won’t be available for sale in India.

As for the OnePlus 8 Pro, both Ultramarine Blue and Glacial Green colour options feature a matte finish, while the Onyx Black hue has glossy design just like the standard OnePlus 8 smartphone.

OnePlus 8 series price, specifications

The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro prices in India are yet to be announced, but in the US, the handsets will retail starting $699 (~Rs 53,000). The maxed-out OnePlus 8 Pro with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs $999 (~Rs 76,500).

As for the specifications, both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro run OxygenOS atop Android 10 out of the box. The handsets come with a punch-hole display design, Snapdragon 865 SoC, 5G connectivity, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage onboard. The regular OnePlus 8 smartphone measures 6.55-inch and comes with Fluid AMOLED Full-HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint scanner. It has triple rear cameras with 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor, a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 lens, and a 16MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 lens and 116-degree field-of-view. The front camera is a 16MP selfie shooter.

The OnePlus 8 houses a 4,300mAh battery and supports Warp Charge 30T wired charging. The OnePlus 8 Pro, on the other hand, houses a beefier 4,510mAh battery and is the first OnePlus phone to support wireless charging (30W). The OnePlus 8 Pro is also a bigger phone with a 6.78-inch QHD+ Fluid AMOLED display compared to the vanilla OnePlus 8.

For photography, the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with quad-camera setup at the back, which comprises of 48MP Sony IMX689 primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3X hybrid zoom, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with 119.7-degree field-of-view, and a 5MP f/2.4 colour filter sensor. The front camera of the phone is the same as that of the OnePlus 8.
