“OnePlus 8 design, according to the unit spotted in the hands of Robert Downey Jr, shows triple rear cameras, curved edges, and orange colour”
OnePlus 8 may have been just spotted in the hands of Robert Downey Jr. ahead of the expected April launch. For those unaware, the Avengers star is the global brand ambassador for OnePlus. The alleged live-images only show the OnePlus 8 rear design in shiny new orange colour and what looks like a leather finish. It reiterates the fact that the flagship will have vertically arranged triple rear cameras with LED flash and laser autofocus aligned parallelly. Unfortunately, the front-design can’t be seen but recently leaked renders show a punch-hole design and extremely narrow bezels.
OnePlus 8 specifications
OnePlus 8 is expected to ship with a 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, an in-screen fingerprint sensor for security, a single punch-hole cutout to house the front-facing camera and Corning Gorilla Glass layer. It is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with Adreno 650 GPU for gaming. It is said to come in three variants: 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB UFS 3.0 non-expandable storage. The phone is expected to boot Android 10 OS with OxygenOS custom skin on top.
As for the optics, the OnePlus 8 is expected to pack triple rear cameras with a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary sensor, and a 2MP lens. It is rumoured to rock a 32MP snapper for selfies and video chats. A 4,000mAh battery with 30T Warp charging fuels the handset. OnePlus 8 is tipped to finally include wireless charging support, which wasn’t available on previous OnePlus flagships. The phone will also include 5G support, as confirmed by the company’s CEO, Pete Lau.
