“OnePlus 8 flagships have set more than 10 smartphone display performance records in all key categories, including the colour accuracy, image contrast, display brightness and screen reflection”
OnePlus 8-series is scheduled to launch on April 14th and thanks to the leaked renders and specifications, we know a fair deal about the flagships. Now ahead of the launch, DisplayMate, which is a leading evaluator of smartphone displays, has certified that the OnePlus 8 phones have excellent displays for the smartphone category and also given these handsets an A+ grade. Additionally, the OnePlus 8 flagships have set more than 10 smartphone display performance records in all key categories, including the colour accuracy, image contrast, display brightness and screen reflection.
Raymond Soneira, president of DisplayMate Technologies said, “The OnePlus 8 series continues that tradition of excellence, improving on the outstanding results of last year’s OnePlus 7 series and keeping OnePlus ahead of the curve. The OnePlus 8 series Smartphones have earned our Highest A+ Display Rating and DisplayMate Best Smartphone Display Awards, with 10+ Display Performance Records including Color Accuracy that is Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect.”
Earlier this year, OnePlus had introduced 120Hz Quad HD+ fluid display with motion estimate and motion compensation (MEMC) for a much smoother video playback experience and 10-bit colour for more accurate representation. The recent specifications leak suggest the OnePlus 8 Pro would feature the same panel. This coupled with slim bezels, thanks to the punch-hole design is set to offer immersive content and gaming experience.
OnePlus Founder and CEO Pete Lau said, “Our mission is to deliver the best user experience possible with our flagships. The display of a smartphone is the direct medium through which users can enjoy the ‘fast and smooth’ experience offered by OnePlus. That’s why we invested heavily in its R&D and spared no expense to make it one of the best high refresh rate displays in the world.”
