“OnePlus 8 series is now rumoured to include the 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Lite smartphones”
After launching OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro flagship series, OnePlus seems to be quickly moved on to its next flagship series — OnePlus 8. We’ve recently come across renders of the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8 Lite, which showed their design in its full glory. Now, OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau teased the upcoming phones will be the “most beautiful flagship.” However, he didn’t reveal any other details about the flagships, but did add that the India-only OnePlus TV will launch in China next year.
OnePlus 8 series specifications and design
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, while the Lite could get a less powerful chipset. OnePlus already confirmed that going forward all its device would feature a higher refresh rate display, this suggests they could have 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate.
A recently leaked OnePlus 8 Pro leaked product diagram revealed a vertically-arranged quad-camera setup placed in the centre. It is suggested that OnePlus could be adding a ToF sensor to the triple cameras found on the OnePlus 7T Pro. It’ll ditch the pop-up mechanism for a pill-shaped punch-hole design at the top-left corner of the display to accommodate dual-selfie cameras. While the standard OnePlus 8 will just have a single snapper.
As for the OnePlus 8 Lite, it has a flat display, possibly sport a 6.4 or 6.5-inch panel with full HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass layer. Unlike its siblings, the OnePlus 8 Lite has a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout for a single selfie camera. The renders suggest the USB Type-C port is present on the bottom, and there is no presence of a headphone jack. All the models are expected to pack a glass body design with gradient designs.
