The OnePlus 8 series launch date has been confirmed for April 14th by the company. The launch event will be held online only and will be live-streamed on the official OnePlus website and YouTube channel at 8:30pm IST. The series is expected to comprise of vanilla OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and the budget OnePlus 8 Lite. All the models in the upcoming series are confirmed to have 5G connectivity and the high-end OnePlus 8 Pro will have 120Hz screen refresh rate. The recently leaked renders of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro showed the phones will have punch-hole displays, vertically-aligned camera modules, and ultra-slim bezels.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is rumoured to flaunt a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, probably the same panel that was announced in January. It is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The flagship is likely to run Android 10 OS with Oxygen OS custom skin on top. Moving to the optics, the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to pack quad cameras consisting of a couple of 48MP sensors, an 8MP unit, and a 5MP lens. On the front, it is tipped to rock a 16MP selfie snapper. There’s IP68 rating for water and dust-resistance and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. A 4,510 mAh battery with 30W Super Warp 30T fast charging support, 30W wireless charging, and 3W reverse wireless charging is tipped to fuel the phone.

As for the regular OnePlus 8, it is said to flaunt a relatively smaller 6.55-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The phone will have triple cameras at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary unit, and a 2MP unit. There’s a 16MP unit on the front in the punch-hole cutout for selfies and video chats. A 4,300mAh battery with 30W Warp Charge 30T fast-charging support is said to fuel the handset.

Lastly, the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to flaunt a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000SoC with 5G connectivity. The handset is said to pack triple cameras consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary lens, and a 12MP unit. It is said to be equipped with a 4,000mAh battery and 30T Warp fast-charging support. The phone will be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB internal storage models. As for the price, the OnePlus 8 Lite could cost GBP 400 (around Rs 37,500).
