OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones are being assembled in India as confirmed by the company’s India GM Vikas Agarwal in an interview with news agency IANS. The flagship smartphone were originally unveiled on April 14th and will go on sale in India for the first time on May 29th. The OnePlus 8 series is being manufactured in the country under the ‘Make in India’ initiative with the company’s Noida facility resuming operations. Local manufacturing allows the company lower the prices of the smartphones. This explains why the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro prices in India are considerably cheaper compared to their international prices.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro prices in India, launch offers and availability 

OnePlus 8 price in India is Rs 41,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, Rs 44,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and Rs 49,999 for the 12GB + 256GB options. The OnePlus 8 Pro 8GB + 128GB price is set at Rs 54,999, while the 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 59,999. The pop-up bundles for include OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z and a couple of bumper cases at just Rs 1,000 more. The flagships will be available through Amazon India, and offline retail stores across the country.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro launch offers include Rs 3,000 instant discount on OnePlus 8 Pro and Rs 2,000 instant discount on OnePlus 8 using SBI credit cards. Additionally, the company is also offering up to 12 months no-cost EMI and Jio benefits worth Rs 6,000.

Recalling the specifications, the OnePlus 8 Pro flaunts a 6.78-inch QHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. It boots Android 10 OS with OxygenOS skin and has IP68 water and dust resistance The quad-camera setup at the back includes two 48MP sensors, an 8MP unit, and a 5MP colour sensor. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. It houses a 4,510mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging wired charging.

The standard OnePlus 8 has a smaller 6.55-inch full HD+ Fluid AMOLED display and supports up to 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 5G SoC with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The phone runs on Android 10 with OxygenOS custom skin. The triple cameras include a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 16MP ultra-wide sensor. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video calls. It houses a 4,300mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, but lacks wireless charging support.
