OnePlus 9RT India launch has been in the rumour mill for quite some time but the device is yet to see the light in the day. It was originally launched in China back in October with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Now, tipster Yogesh Brar has learned from a distribution channel that the company will discontinue the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9R, and OnePlus 8T soon after the OnePlus 9RT India launch. The company appears to be gearing up to release the handset in the country soon and hence wants to take the existing phones off the shelves. This also comes amidst OnePlus’ plans to unveil the OnePlus 10 Pro in China next month.

Yogesh adds that this could be the reason behind OnePlus suddenly slashing prices of the OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 8T phones on various portals, combined with bank discounts and coupons. The brand seemingly wants to clear as much stock of the existing lineup before the OnePlus 9RT India launch. We should know more details about the OnePlus 9RT India launch once the company starts teasing its social media handles.

OnePlus 9RT specifications

OnePlus 9RT sports a 6.62-inch E4 OLED display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, 1300nits peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and 600Hz touch response. The phone has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with OIS and EIS support, 16MP wide-angle lens, and a macro lens. There is a 16MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

Connectivity options include 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, and USB Type-C port, NFC, GPS and Bluetooth. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with Warp Charge 65T 65W fast charging. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. The handset boots on ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 in China but may come with OxygenOS custom skin in India but with a ColorOS code base.
