- OnePlus 9 series is tipped to launch in March
- The launch date is still unknown but the report claims a mid-March release
- OnePlus 9 series is expected to include a Pro model
OnePlus 9 launch is expected in March 2021, a few weeks earlier than usual, Android Central reports. The flagship smartphone will follow the OnePlus 8T, which was launched in India last week with specifications such as a 120Hz Fluid AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 SoC, 65W fast charging, and 48MP quad cameras. OnePlus 9 specifications are still under wraps, but it should get some of the features found on the OnePlus 8T, especially the new fast-charging solution. The latest report suggests OnePlus is aiming to announce the OnePlus 9 series in March.
OnePlus 9 release date is still unknown at the moment, but Android Central claims the launch will take place in mid-March. OnePlus typically launches its first flagship phone of the year in April, but it seems we will see the 2021 flagship a few weeks earlier than usual. Even Samsung for that matter is planning to announce the Galaxy S21 series in January rather than its typical February-end timeline.
The OnePlus 9 series launch in March would give the company some time to sell more units before the T-series models hit the store shelves in the fall. The OnePlus 9 series arriving in March also allows OnePlus to compete with Samsung and Xiaomi, who also plan to launch their flagships in early-2021.
OnePlus 9 series is expected to include a standard model and a Pro model. The OnePlus 9 Pro should get all the premium bells and whistles, including wireless charging support and IP rating while the vanilla OnePlus 9 will skip these features for a lower price tag. We expect to learn more about the OnePlus 9 specifications in the months to come.
