OnePlus 9 series is set to launch globally on March 23rd, the company has officially revealed. The upcoming smartphones will be launching in India and several other markets on March 23rd. In addition to the OnePlus 9 series launch date, the company also confirmed that it has entered into a long-term partnership with legendary camera manufacturer Hasselblad. The OnePlus 9 Pro will use Hasselblad-branded cameras and the company revealed our first official look at the design of the phone. The design stays true to past renders, revealing a rectangular camera module on a silver colour back panel and the Hasselblad branding.

“OnePlus has always prioritized a premium user experience over everything else. Beginning in 2021, we are making a concerted effort to significantly improve the smartphone camera experience for our users, with the expertise of a truly legendary partner in Hasselblad,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “With OnePlus’ top-of-the-line hardware and computational photography and Hasselblad’s rich aesthetic knowledge in traditional photography, I am confident that the OnePlus 9 Series will be a major leap forward in our ability to deliver a premium, flagship camera.”
OnePlus has entered into a three-year partnership with Hasselblad to co-develop the “next generation of smartphone camera systems for future OnePlus flagship devices.” OnePlus will invest more than USD 150 million over the next three years to develop its mobile imaging capabilities. The company has announced that it has developed a new colour solution – Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad – that will look to bring natural-looking colours to photos.
The OnePlus 9 series will come with a new Hasselblad Pro Mode that will offer “accurate and natural colour for a solid foundation for post-editing.” The Hasselblad Pro Mode comes with a new user interface that will give an authentic Hasselblad look, the company claims. It will give professional photographers more control to fine-tune their photos, with the ability to adjust ISO, focus, exposure, white balance, and more.
OnePlus 9 series specifications
OnePlus 9 series is expected to include the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. The lineup is also expected to include the OnePlus 9R model. The flagship phones are expected to come with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 12GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, and 65W fast charging support. Only the Pro model is expected to come with Hasselblad-branded cameras. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9R is tipped to come with the Snapdragon 690 chipset, FHD+ 90Hz display, and 48MP primary camera.
